Margie Lawn, 1922-2003, Sedalia

Margie Lawn, 81, of Sedalia, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, in Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Maries County on May 6, 1922, a daughter of William "Carney" and Stella Smith Hickey.

On Oct. 24, 1994, in Waynesville, she was married to Jack E. Lawn, who has died.

Mrs. Lawn had been a nurse for 37 years, retiring in 1984.

Surviving are two sons, James Hale, of Sedalia, and Darrell Hale, of Dixon, two daughters, Elaine Bray, of Hibbing, Minn., and Judy Eberle, of Jefferson City, one sister, Mary Barnhart, of Meta, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She also was predeceased by one brother, James "Ralph" Hickey and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Dec. 3 in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, with the Father John Schmitz officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery in Dixon. Pallbearers were Paul Branson, Donnie Hale, Jim Hale, John Hale, Jim Eberle and Randy Rokala. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Hale and Ronald Null.
